The People’s Advocate or Ombudsman (in Romanian Avocatul Poporului or Ombudsman) is a state institution responsible for safeguarding your human rights in Moldova.
The People’s Advocate is a state authority (National Human Rights Institution) that contributes to the protection of your human rights and freedoms by preventing their violation through monitoring and reporting in Moldova. The Ombudsman is independent of the government, parliament and courts.
